Starting October 25, United will officially resume daily nonstop service on the 2,031-mile transcontinental sector.

United will deploy its mainstream workhorse, the Boeing 737-800, on the SFO–CVG route. The narrowbody aircraft is configured in a two-cabin layout carrying up to 166 passengers:

• United First (Business Class): 16 recline seats offering premium dining, dedicated cabin service, and priority airport perks.
• United Economy: 150 standard seats, including United Economy Plus rows featuring extra legroom and expedited deplaning.

All passengers on board the Boeing 737-800 will have access to inflight Wi-Fi, personal device entertainment streams, and power outlets throughout the cabin.

The SFO–CVG route carries a rich operational background. United initially launched service between the two hubs in 2017, maintaining operations until 2020 before pausing the link amid pandemic-related flight restructuring. During its initial four-year run, United utilized a flexible fleet mix, deploying Airbus A319s, Airbus A320s, Boeing 737-800s, and Boeing 737-900s depending on seasonal demand patterns.

Historically, the San Francisco to Greater Cincinnati air corridor attracted interest from several commercial carriers:
